So much for the workout plans.

I was so diligent about the workout plan, going to the gym regularly, it was going great for about a week and a half.  Then, it hit.  I got really sick.  Lay-in-bed-all-day-for-days sick.  It was awful.  So for the 2 weeks I was sick, the workout plan went out the window.  I am starting to feel better now except for the occasional coughing spells.  So, the plan is to hit the gym Monday.

In the meantime, I finally got to try out a cupcake from Top it Off on Gilbert and Warner.  I got the smore's cupcake.  It was so good.  From its graham cracker bottom, to its chocolatey center, to it's torched marshmallow meringue top, it was delicious.  Yep, I am really on the road to full recovery and a hot bod.

Intel.

So, I work for a construction company on the Intel site in Chandler.  Intel is in the process of building their biggest Fab (a fab is a fabrication building, where they make computer chips) in the world, right here in Chandler.  And I am a part of it.  It is incredible.  I work with one of my besties, Malia, and now she is leaving me to go and get a Phd from BYU.  Happy for her.  Sad for me.  But, on the bright side, to celebrate her last day, the boss took us to lunch at Oregano's, which was a 2 hour lunch since Oregano's takes so long to get the food.  Then, as a special treat, he drove us around to a side of the site that I had never seen before.  Usually I am just cooped up all day in a cubical inside the classy trailer.  Actually seeing the construction going on and the  huge buildings with tiny men working on them was amazing!

I do purchasing for the company and order the material they need.  Most of the time, I have no idea what I am ordering and never see it when it arrives on site.  Just a couple days ago, I had ordered some trailers to be delivered to the site.  Then, as we drove by, the boss pointed out the trailers that I had ordered that were now set up on site.  It is so cool to see the work I do all day actually materialize.  The boss could tell that we were really enjoying ourselves.  So then he asked, "Would you like to go up and see inside one of the other fabs?"  Yes!  So Malia and I got to go up into one of the finished fabs and watch the chips being made from the windows of the cleanrooms.  Malia put it best: "It's like the Jetsons."  It was all automated and so of-the-future.  It is so cool.  I love my job!

Then, the boss gave us a lesson in workplace efficiency.  As he talked, it sounded like he was lecturing from the material from my communication classes.  I kept thinking, "I just learned that last week in class!"  All of the stuff I have been learning about in my communication classes might actually be worth something! So cool.

So, my job is pretty cool.  That's all.

Habla Espanol

Hola, Como Estas, Muy Bien, Gracias

I work on a Construction site and have many Hispanic coworkers.  
My childhood dream is to speak Spanish.  
So, my coworker Melissa has started teaching me Espanol.  

Getting paid to learn Spanish = Perfecto!

It is nice to live with someone who knows Spanish so I can practice at home. 

One of the first phrases I learned was

"Comprame Un Perrito" 

(Buy me a Puppy)

I am trying to talk Scott into buying me a puppy.

So far its no bueno.

But, he is helping me learn Spanish.  

The other night, he said our prayers in Spanish.

He hardly ever speaks in Spanish.

Hearing him speak Spanish was one of the cutest/sweetest/best things ever.

Live Fit.

40 hour week desk job+skipping the gym+eating whatever whenever however=droopiness.

So, I started a new workout plan designed by Jamie Eason, Live Fit Trainer.  Her workout plan outlines exactly which exercises to do everyday at the gym, and even has videos of how to do them.  

I like it so far.  It is motivating me to get to the gym everyday and push myself.  

It also includes a diet program.  I don't know if I will really follow it, we'll see... 

I feel really intimidated using the weights and machines at the gym without someone with me.  

So I made Scott go with me the first day.  

He came, in his street clothes (cargo shorts, regular shirt) and stood around, 

completely bored as I did each exercise.  

I love him for doing that. 

Last night, he really didn't want to go with me.  

So, begrudgingly I went by myself.  

And, except for the boy who wouldn't stop staring at me while his friend waved his hand at his face 

and except for the one exercise that I forgot exactly how to do and did completely wrong 

and embarrassed myself, 

exercising by myself was okay.  

The videos help me feel like I know what I'm doing 

and having a workout plan helps me feel focused and driven.

VEGAS, Honeymoon II

For our long weekend, Scott and I hit up Vegas.  We stayed in a resort on Lake Mead, just South of Henderson.  It was gorgeous.  To get there, we took a toll road that took us around the lake, deeper and deeper into the desert.  We got worried that we would be staying in an isolated hotel in the middle of the desert.  But then, out of nowhere this beautiful oasis called Lake Las Vegas Resorts emerged.  It was a beautiful area with shopping, casinos, resorts, bike trails, golf course, and nice residential areas.

Scott was pretty sick on Saturday, so when he wasn't laying in bed taking of advantage of free cable TV, we stayed close to the resort just in case he needed to rest in the room.  Luckily, the resort had great amenities that kept us entertained:

• Tennis
• Bike trails
• Mini golf
• Basketball courts (of course, with Scott being sick we didn't take advantage of the first four on this list, but I just thought I would mention them so you all would know how cool this place was)
• Adult pool with jacuzzi and private cabanas
• Kids pool with water slides
• Private beach on the lake
• Kayaks 
• Paddle boarding 
• Nice restaurants
• Classy lounge area with jazz piano
• Padio with fire pits, couches, tables and chairs and even mini beds 
• Fire pit on the private beach 
• Marshmallows for roasting
• Moroccan inspired decor

Sunday, we met up with Shannon, Ronnie, and Baby Isla at church. 

Fav. moment at church: A random man started coming straight at me as if he knew me.  He had his hands out as if to grab me, so I put out my hand to give him a handshake.  He grasped my hands then leaned in for a KISS!  I pulled back a little, so he started kissing my hand, multiple times.  I finally realized that he was handicapped, as his caretaker finally started to pull him away saying, "He thinks you're nice."  HAAA!

The rest of the day, we hung out and then we hit up the Belagio on the strip.  It was so fun!  

The next day, we went to the pool, packed up, and headed home where we spent the rest of the evening with our families, first the Cardons, then the Godards.

Mufasa

Some days I decide to just wear my hair the natural way, which is wavy-curly-frizzy.  On these days, Scott calls me Mufasa.  What was intended as an insult is now empowering me:

I.AM.KING.OF.THE.JUNGLE.

Anyways, I love these Summer Days filled with swimming at Lifetime, yummy dinner groups, and nighttime chocolate runs.  And I love the Hunny who does it all with me.  What a pal.

Soon to come: Weekend in Vegas Post. It was epic.

Taco Bell

Tonight, I had my first Taco Bell Burrito in years (sans cheese and onions, of course).
You may think gross.  But, it was delicious.
